Do you ever need the services of an artist, a musician, a bricklayer, or a pond maintenance guy? I would like to recommend Kellas Brown. Because he is skilled in all these areas, I call him the Renaissance Man!
Here’s how I came to know Kellas. I wanted someone to build a pathway to connect our front sidewalk with the patio in back. Our local supplier of hardscape materials, the Rocke Shoppe, recommended him. We hired him to do the work, and our sidewalk turned out just as we had envisioned it.
As we got to know Kellas better, we learned that he comes as close to being a true Renaissance man as anyone I know. His art is what matters most to him, but he also plays a mean guitar and entertains with a small band. He can do construction projects, he does excellent stonework, and he can also build and maintain garden ponds and fountains.
Needing all these things, we were on a roll! After the sidewalk, which more than met my expectations, we hired Kellas to:
- Shore up some existing stonework,
- Redo, maintain and winterize our pond,
- Play and sing with his band at a couple of parties, and most importantly,
- Paint a rustic picture of our garden
The garden painting is on a section of an old fence. The wood is rough, but suits its garden-and-barn subject well. The painting is coated with polyurethane to protect it from the elements, so it stays outside most of the year. To me, it is the perfect patio decoration for Serendipity Gardens. Look one way, and you see the painting. Look the other, and you see the real thing. Fabulous!
I highly recommend Kellas for jobs in the Detroit metropolitan area. Like any Renaissance man, he does a nice job of whatever he tackles. If you would like more information, please go to the Contact page and send an email.

Pretty amazing work! All of it is wonderful, but of everything he’s done, I think I like the painting best. I also have really enjoyed the music on the occasions I have gotten to hear it!
